Meet the family
Hencote is a family business, managed by the Stevens family. Andy and Dora Stevens run Hencote Estate with their four children Mark, Charles, Suzanne and Vivienne. They have lived all over the world before settling at Hencote in 1997. Andy and Dora have lovingly redeveloped the land in the estate as it is today.
Expertise
Our family has years of experience in the wine industry, harnessing a range of expertise and skills to help grow the best grapes. We visit vineyards around the world to widen our knowledge and gain insights to producing first-class international wines, made to the highest quality.
A modern history
In 2009 the Stevens family planted a hobby vineyard comprising of 160 vines. They passionately believed that the estate could be developed and this vision inspired the development of the estate today. By 2015 a new Vineyard of 24,000 vines had been planted and in 2018 the winery building was completed equipped with a new restaurant, wine and cocktail bar. The Glamping Village was opened in in the same year, along with a private road linking the estate to the main road.
Ethos & values
Since 2009 Hencote Estate has come along way offering Vineyard and Winery tours, a unique dining experience overlooking 180 degree views of the Shropshire Hills and accommodation to suit all. We want to share all that the estate has to offer with our Club members making them part of our journey.
